INTERNATIONAL VETERINARY FORENSIC SCIENCES ASSOCIATION

FIVE levels of Membership exists within the IVFSA.

1.  Student Member:  Any student meeting the full-time student status at any accredited, degree-awarding college or university.  Student members do not hold board or officer positions, and do not vote in association elections.   DUES:  $25.00 USD Annually.

2.  Affiliate Member Without Voting Privileges: Affiliate status is limited to persons who have not completed the educational requirements, but maintain full-time employment in a position that involved the prevention of animal abuse, neglect, and cruelty.  In order to be considered for Affiliate Membership Without Voting Privileges, the individual must submit an application for Affiliate Membership Without Voting Privileges to the Officers of the Association and must submit two letters of recommendation and support from individuals familiar with the applicant’s professional career and accomplishments.  This type of membership does not have voting privileges.  DUES:  $25.00 USD Annually

3.  Affiliate Member With Voting Privileges:  Any person who has maintained (in good standing) their status as an Affiliate Member Without Voting Privileges for a period of two years is eligible to become an Affiliate Member With Voting Privileges.  The individual must submit an application for Affiliate Member With Voting Privileges to the Officers of the Association.  This application does not require the submission of any letters of recommendation.  This type of membership does have voting privileges.  DUES:  $50.00 USD Annually

4. Associate Member:  Any individual possessing a four-year (or higher) degree from an accredited college or university, or international equivalent, or an employee of an agency or organization involved in the research, education, or investigation of animal abuse, neglect, or cruelty may apply for an Associate Membership. This also includes any individual serving as a consultant to a private or public agency or organization involved in the investigation of animal abuse, neglect, or cruelty, To be considered for appointment for Associate Membership, the individual must submit an application for Associate Membership to the Officers of the Association and must submit two letters of recommendation and support from individuals familiar with the applicant’s professional career and accomplishments. Associate members shall be voting members of the Association. An Associate Member who has been a member in good standing for five years or more and who has attended at least two IVFSA annual conferences is eligible for consideration for Full Membership.  DUES: $50.00 USD Annually.

5.  Full Member:  Any individual possessing a DVM, Ph.D., M.D., J.D., or any individual with a Master’s degree (MS) AND three years directly applicable experience in the investigation of cases of animal crime, neglect, and cruelty.  To be considered for appointment for full membership, the individual must submit an application for full membership to the Officers of the IVFSA and submit two letters of recommendation from a supervisor, employer, or colleague.  Full members have voting privileges.  DUES: $125.00 USD Annually.

 Dues are paid annually on January 1st.  Those not paid prior to May 31st are past due.

If a member wants to qualify for the member rate at conference, membership dues should be paid prior to conference registration.
