Dr. Goldberger is a
Professor and Director of Toxicology in the Department of Pathology,
Immunology and Laboratory Medicine in the College of Medicine at the
University of Florida in Gainesville. He holds a joint Clinical
Professor position in the Department of Psychiatry in the College of
Medicine. Dr. Goldberger is also the Director of the William R.
Maples Center for Forensic Medicine and Program Director for the Florida
Emergency Mortuary Operations Response System. Previously, Dr.
Goldberger was an Assistant Toxicologist and Laboratory Manager for the
State of Maryland at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner as well as
a Toxicologist with the National Center for Forensic Science in
Baltimore, Maryland.
At the University of
Florida, Dr. Goldberger is the Technical and Administrative Director of
the Forensic Toxicology Laboratory. The laboratory supports the Medical
Examiner Offices in seven districts throughout the State of Florida. The
approximate yearly caseload of the laboratory is about 3000. Dr.
Goldberger's laboratory also provides analytical services for several
governmental, academic, and private organizations. Dr. Goldberger has
been qualified as an expert witness more than 130 times in forensic
toxicology in Federal, State of Florida, Military and Canadian courts of
law.
Dr. Goldberger has been featured on local, state and national radio,
television and print media, ABC Good Morning America, CNN (Lou Dobbs &
Nancy Grace), MSNBC, Fox News (America's Newsroom), CourtTV (Courtside),
CBS' 48 Hours, the A&E and History Channels, ChannelOne and VH1.
